My Favorite Things: Top 4 Protein Bars

Many women wonder why they would have protein bars at all, why not opt for a regular granola bar? So, before I get started on my raving reviews of delicious protein bars I want to address the importance of consuming enough protein daily.

The truth is that many women under consume protein in general. (It isn't just for the boys!)

  • Helps to keep you full as it digestes slowly

    Without further ado here are my top 4 favorite protein bar picks! I love tucking a few in my purse as quick snacks on the go. 


Okay, I know it isn't a protein bar but it has the same attributes as one so it made the list. Besides, this is my current favorite so I couldn't leave it out! Let me get something straight, not ALL protein cookies taste great. Heck, I have tried a few that I actually have had to throw out! (I rarely leave food behind so that says a lot) Lenny Larry nailed this cookie! It is soft, chewy and it doesn't taste dry or chalky. 

I love that these cookies do not contain whey protein as most others on the market do! These cookies are vegan, soy free and kosher. The protein is sourced from pea protein isolate and brown rice protein! I must also mention that they are free of artificial sweeteners. 

Note that the  calories/macros are a little bit higher on this than other protein bars but it actually is a feature I love! It makes for a really good pre-workout snack or as a meal replacement. I usually keep one handy for busy days! Of courses you could always have the half serving as they suggest on the label (what fun is that though!)


If you are looking for the most natural protein bar this is your top pick! 

It if filled with lots of awesome stuff like chia seeds, quinoa flakes, dried sweet potato, hemp hearts etc. These are not typical ingredients found in commercial protein bars. 

The performance line does not need to be refrigerated however it does help preserve freshness and is recommended. 


My favorite thing about these bars is that they do not contain any artificial colors or sweeteners and yet are still able to offer an amazing taste! (Hey, this can be a difficult feat) There are a variety of flavors to choose from and are a great option to stash in your gym bag for times of need! I find that Fit Joy bars always taste fresh. 


Quest has almost become a household name! They are usually a sure thing when you are on the go as you can now find them at most gas stations and drug stores. These little snacks revolutionized the protein bar industry and you can find almost any flavor your heart desires.

Pro Tip: Quest Cookies
Preheat your oven to broil
Prepare a baking sheet with tinfoil and spray
Roll quest bar into 4 balls
Broil for 1-2 minutes (watch carefully)
